Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a Sr. Communication Systems Research Scientist to own the radio resource management and radio access design for Amazon Leo’s direct-to-device system.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in wireless communications at system or implementation level.
• Experience in 3GPP RRM for LTE/NR/NTN.
• Experience with wireless simulators in Matlab/Python/C++ with agentic AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Research, design and specify RRM algorithms for 3GPP-based D2D systems (MAC scheduling, power control, HARQ, DRX, QoS).
• Integrate beam management with resource optimization (MU-MIMO, scheduling, band assignment).
• Define NTN RRM for earth-fixed/earth-moving cells, large delays and Doppler pre-compensation.
• Design mobility and service continuity for satellite-based basestations and NTN-to-terrestrial handovers.
• Coordinate with PHY teams on numerology, PRACH, synchronization, and FEC/BLER models.
