Job summary

Amazon Leo in San Diego seeks a Sr. Phased Array RF Front End Architect to own the RF front-end architecture for D2D and Broadband payloads.

You will design the analog signal chain from antenna to digital interface, balancing noise, linearity, and efficiency under space constraints, while coordinating with systems, silicon, and calibration teams. The role is hands-on, requires lab work and on-call support for on-orbit operations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in EE/CE or equivalent required.
• (7+) years of experience in RF front-end or phased array design and architecture.
• Experience with RF measurement equipment and system-level RF analysis.
• Experience with phased array front-end architecture across multiple bands.

Responsibilities

• Own the phased array RF front-end architecture across D2D and Broadband payloads.
• Ensure RF performance across beam steering angles and scan conditions.
• Define T/R module architecture and semiconductor trade-offs.
• Collaborate with systems, HW, silicon, antenna, calibration, thermal and power teams to ensure space-appropriate design.
• Drive semiconductor process selection and radiation tolerance studies.
• Support production and on-orbit debug; hands-on lab work and on-call support.
