Job summary

Primcura Education seeks enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to provide vital support to children with special educational needs in primary and secondary settings.

You will help students flourish academically and socially by tailoring assistance, supporting IEPs, and adapting activities to diverse learning needs in a nurturing school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN or other learning needs.
• Knowledge of conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech/language difficulties.
• Strong interpersonal skills with patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a school team while taking initiative when needed.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent, is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one or small group support to children with SEN, tailoring assistance to their individual needs.
• Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support programs designed by teachers and specialists.
• Adapt classroom resources and activities to make learning accessible and engaging.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence in students.
• Liaise closely with teaching staff, therapists, and school leadership to share insights and track progress.
• Observe, record, and report on student achievements and challenges to inform ongoing support strategies.
