Job summary

Connex Education is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school, supporting KS1 and KS2 pupils with special educational needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide one-to-one and small group support, adapting activities to meet diverse needs including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.

You will help pupils access the curriculum, promote communication, confidence and independence, and contribute to a safe, inclusive

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent UK qualification.
  • Previous experience in Educational is essential.
  • Commitment to equality and diversity in the classroom.
  • Enhanced DBS on update service or willingness to apply for one via Connex Education.

Rate of pay: £425 – £500 Dependent on experience

Location: Northfield/Kings Norton

About the role

Connex Education is seeking a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school supporting KS1 and KS2 pupils with special educational needs. In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils access the curriculum and achieve their individual targets. You will adapt learning activities to meet a range of needs—including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties—while promoting communication, confidence, independence, and positive behaviour. Your support will help create a safe, inclusive learning environment where every child is encouraged to make progress and reach their full potential.

Role Requirements
  • Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or Equivalent Level 3 UK Educational qualification is required.
  • Previous experience working in Educational is essential.

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education.
