Job summary

Lam Research in Manassas, VA, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide on-site repair, installation, and relocation start-up support for Lam’s complex semiconductor equipment. You will troubleshoot and perform diagnostics to minimize downtime at customer sites.

You will travel domestically and internationally, work in cleanroom environments with PPE, and mentor junior engineers while staying current with Lam products through training and certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics/diagrams.
• Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Willingness to travel frequently (domestic and international).

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site repair, maintenance, and start-up support for Lam equipment at customer sites.
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshoot to component level, and minimize downtime.
• Keep up-to-date on semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products via training and certification.
• Coordinate field activities and maintain detailed records for Lam and customers.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and deliver exceptional customer satisfaction.
