Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Malta Fab8 site to monitor and maintain cutting-edge semiconductor equipment in a 24/7 operation. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with production teams and engineers to ensure equipment readiness.

The role requires standing for long shifts, lifting up to 50 lbs with two-person assist, and adherence to strict cleanroom protocols. English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• English (written & verbal) proficiency required.
• Electrical or mechanical background is preferred.
• Basic reading and writing comprehension required.
• Basic computer navigation (Windows, MS Office, Outlook) skills needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, sustain, and improve equipment and processes in assigned area.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on tool sets.
• Communicate equipment status concisely to Lead Tech/Engineer.
• Ensure safe operation in line with FAB8 EHS&S policies.
• Recover equipment from process interruptions and document events.
