Job summary

First Solar, Inc. is seeking a Production Coater Technician I in Louisiana to begin the manufacturing process, including coating application of photovoltaic modules.

You will safely operate equipment, manage materials, and perform basic quality control, with the ability to run alarms and maintain SPC-related process data. You’ll participate in on-the-job training, perform light maintenance with hand tools, and work with cross-functional teams to meet production targets while following strict

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; associate degree or technical certificate preferred.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience; substitutions may apply.
• Willingness to obtain forklift certification and operate material handling equipment.
• Internal candidates must have 60 credits of internal training or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety procedures and maintains good housekeeping.
• Safely operates and maintains tools and equipment to meet quality targets.
• Completes training within required timeframe and assists team members.
• Performs maintenance on equipment using hand tools and instrumentation.
• Operates forklift/crane with proper training when required.
• Collaborates with cross functional teams to run approved tests.
• Monitors process data and alarms, escalating when needed.
• Maintains inventory levels of materials for next shift.
• Ensures waste is discarded properly and on schedule.
