Job summary

First Solar is seeking a Production Coater Technician I based in Perrysburg, OH. The role begins the coating stage of PV module manufacturing and requires safe operation of select equipment, material handling, and routine maintenance.

Qualifications

• External candidates must have: High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree or certificate in a technical discipline preferred.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience; experience may substitute direct manufacturing experience.
• Warehousing, textiles, agriculture, or material inspection experience.
• Honorable military experience in electrical, mechanical and/or chemical industrial application.
• Internal candidates must have: High School Diploma or GED and 60 internal credits or equivalent training, plus endorsement from direct supervisor and positive safety/performance ratings.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety procedures and maintains good housekeeping.
• Safely operates and maintains tools/equipment to meet quality and productivity targets.
• Completes required training within the timeframe.
• Provides on-the-job training to teammates as needed.
• Performs maintenance on equipment with hand tools and instruments.
• Operates forklift and crane with proper training when required.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams on testing and problem solving.
• Monitors processes data (SPC) and makes deviation decisions.
