Self-Perform EHS Lead - Construction Safety

Job summary

DPR Construction is a forward-thinking, self-performing general contractor specializing in technically complex and sustainable projects. This role leads EHS support for Self-Perform Work operations on assigned projects, partnering with SPW leadership to implement programs, train staff, and ensure compliance.

The position manages field EHS professionals, analyzes performance data, and coordinates training to reduce risk and protect the workforce across SPW activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental health, engineering, construction management, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 6-8 years of construction EHS experience.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety training is required.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• CHST or CSP certification preferred.
• STSC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages implementation of EHS programs and initiatives supporting SPW operations in alignment with regional and enterprise standards.
• Oversees EHS professionals supporting SPW crews; provides direction, coaching, and performance management.
• Partners with SPW superintendents, foremen, and operations leaders to integrate EHS planning into daily and look-ahead work activities.
• Reviews risk assessments, audits, and JHAs to support safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
• Manages incident investigations and corrective action tracking; supports communication of lessons learned.
• Monitors and analyzes EHS performance metrics to identify trends and recommend risk mitigation actions.
• Coordinates SPW EHS training, onboarding, and competency verification for craft and field leadership.
