Job summary

Food Lion in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Self-Checkout Ambassador to deliver fast, friendly service at the front end. You will greet customers, assist with self-checkouts, and ensure proper usage and scanning of items, while following Front End standards and safety guidelines.

The role requires excellent communication, a willingness to learn multiple tasks, and the ability to maintain a neat, customer-friendly checkout area while supporting the Customer Service Manager and Front End team.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Effective communication and customer service skills
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
• Must meet minimum age requirements for specific job functions
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts properly including use of the hand scanner
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage and accurate scanning of items
• Remind customers of items located on bottom of cart or under baby seats
• Assist in scanning customer orders and provide instructions on payment
• Complete self-checkout voids and age verifications per Front End standards
• Report any self-checkout issues to the Customer Service Manager or MOD
• Adhere to all company guidelines and training requirements
• Perform troubleshooting steps on self-checkout as needed
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and report cleaning issues
