Job summary

Food Lion in Dobson, NC is seeking a Self-Checkout Ambassador to deliver fast, friendly service at the front end and uphold Food Lion standards.

You will guide customers in using self-checkouts, assist with age verifications, scans, bagging, and maintain a neat, safe checkout area according to store practices.

This role requires good communication, reliability and the ability to learn new tasks while staying courteous to customers and fellow associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name when possible.
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts properly including use of the hand scanner for a Fast and Easy checkout experience.
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications.
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage including scanning of all items and the accurate scanning of each item.
• Remind customers of items located on the bottom of the cart or under baby seats prior to transaction completion.
• Assist in scanning the customer’s order and provide instructions on payment when needed.
• Complete self-checkout voids and other SCO assist functions per Front End Standard Practice.
• Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and standard practices.
• Ability to perform troubleshooting steps on self-checkout as needed.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions that could cause accidents.
• Notify QA of cleaning or maintenance issues on front end.
• Complete CBT and training aid courses.
