Job summary

Food Lion in High Point, NC is seeking a Self-Checkout Ambassador to greet customers and keep the front-end running smoothly. You will assist shoppers at self-checkouts, guide them through the hand scanner, and help maintain a cheerful, efficient checkout area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers.
• Greet each customer and use their name when possible.
• Assist customers with self-checkouts and use of the hand scanner.
• Respond to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications.
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper usage and accurate scanning of items.
• Remind customers of items located at bottom of cart or under baby seats before completing purchase.
• Assist in scanning orders and provide payment instructions as needed.
• Complete self-checkout voids and age-restricted item verifications per Front End standards.
• Maintain a neat, clean self-checkout area and report issues to management.
• Follow all company guidelines and safety procedures.
