Job summary

Food Lion in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Self-Checkout Ambassador to provide fast, friendly service and maintain Front End standards. You will assist customers at self-checkouts, explain how to use the hand scanner, greet customers by name when possible, and help with age-restricted item verifications as needed.

The role requires physical ability to stand for long periods and follow Food Lion dress code. Training will be provided to ensure excellent customer service and a smooth checkout

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must meet minimum age requirements.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts properly including use of the hand scanner for a Fast and Easy checkout experience.
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications.
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage including the scanning of all items and the accurate scanning of each item.
• Follow procedures in handling proper acceptance and payment processing at self-checkout for checks and coupons.
