Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating sediment remediation technologies and design sediment remediation for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and port sites.
• Understand principles of sediment transport, environmental site assessment, sampling/monitoring technologies, cap modeling, dredge approaches, remedial design and construction.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on sediment projects, communicating technical strategies to clients and coordinating SMEs.
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of CERCLA, GLLA, and other regulatory steps for contaminated sediment sites.
• Act as a technical liaison with clients, the public, and outside consultants, explaining complex evaluations to non-experts.
• Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical information to ensure compliance with regulations.
