Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer to lead and contribute on sediment remediation projects for Federal and Public sector clients. The candidate should independently manage tasks and mentor teammates while delivering technically sound designs.

The role requires a PE license, Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineering background, and roughly 7 years of related experience with willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering; PE license; 7 years of related experience.
• Experience leading teams on sediment remediation projects for diverse clients.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to clients and stakeholders; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating the feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and designs for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and port sites.
• Understand sediment transport principles, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, and remedial action design.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serve as task manager, communicating strategy to clients and coordinating with SMEs.
• Lead other staff in preparing technically sound documents compliant with regulations.
• Collaborate with clients, public, and outside consultants as a technical liaison.
