Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer to lead projects for federal and public-sector clients. The role emphasizes independent work, team leadership, and technical strategy across sediment remediation technologies and regulatory programs.

You will oversee evaluations of remediation designs, participate in cap modeling and dredge approaches, and coordinate with clients and external consultants to deliver compliant, high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• 7 years of related experience; travel may be required
• Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree

Responsibilities

• Evaluate feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and design remediation for riverine, coastal, riparian, and port settings
• Understand sediment transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, and remedial action design
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets
• Serve as task manager coordinating with clients and subject matter experts
• Lead staff in preparing technically sound documents conforming to regulations and policy
