Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer to lead projects for federal and public clients, applying expertise in remediation technologies, design, and regulatory processes. The role includes serving as task manager, coordinating engineers/scientists, and communicating complex assessments to clients.

Travel up to 10% is required; a PE license is preferred, with a BS in Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineering and 7+ years of experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
7+ years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

Evaluate feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and prepare designs for riverine, coastal and related settings.
Understand principles of sediment and contaminant transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches and remedial action design.
Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on sediment sites; develop and communicate technical strategies to clients.
Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical information to ensure it is sound and compliant with regulations.
Interact with clients, the public and outside consultants to convey complex evaluations to non-subject matter experts.
