Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer in the United States. The candidate will lead projects and teams on sediment remediation for federal and public clients, evaluating technologies and delivering designs with regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating sediment remediation technologies and design sediment remediation for riverine coastal and port settings.
• Understand principles of sediment and contaminant transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches and remedial action.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Act as CDM Smith’s task manager on sediment site components and communicate strategy to clients and SMEs.
• Lead staff in preparing, reviewing and ensuring technically sound documentation in regulatory compliance.
• Liaise with clients, public and outside consultants to explain complex technical evaluations.
