Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Engineer to lead projects for Federal and Public sector clients in the United States. The role involves evaluating remediation technologies, designing sediment management solutions, and guiding a team through complex technical challenges.

You will apply expertise in environmental site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, and regulatory processes while coordinating with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating sediment remediation technologies and design sediment remediation for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and port sites.
• Understand principles of sediment and contaminant transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, remedial design/construction.
• Support mathematical/statistical analyses of environmental data sets.
• Act as task manager on components of sediment sites and communicate technical strategy to client.
• Liaise with client, public, and consultants, explaining complex evaluations to non-experts.
• Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical documents to ensure regulatory compliance.
