Canyon, a new media art venue in New York's Lower East Side, seeks a Security Manager to lead the security operation for a large, public-facing facility. You will oversee in-house and contracted guards, develop policies, and shape a welcoming security culture during exhibitions, performances, and events.

Reporting to the Director of Facilities, you will build training programs, coordinate with events and visitor services, manage the budget, and ensure safe, hospitable interactions with visitors

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional security operations experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• Experience managing in-house staff and contracted vendors, including onboarding and performance management.
• Strong knowledge of access control, CCTV, and alarm systems.
• Proven ability to train staff in public-facing, hospitality-oriented environments.
• Familiarity with OSHA and NYC Buildings safety requirements.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and post orders for building, exhibitions, and events.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, evaluate, and manage security personnel in partnership with HR; approve timekeeping.
• Oversee day-to-day security operations, scheduling, supervision, and performance management.
• Manage relationships with contracted security vendors; scope, schedule, QA.
