Job summary

Per Mar Security Services is seeking a Low Voltage Technician to install, service, and test electronic security systems including burglar and fire alarms, CCTV, and access control in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Starting pay ranges from $20-$35 per hour based on experience with an incentive program up to 10% of annual pay.

Responsibilities include wiring devices, testing systems, programming alarms, and clearly explaining operation to customers.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license and be able to pass background checks and drug tests.
• Must be able to obtain specified licenses/certifications to perform work in the security industry as per state regulations.
• High School Diploma or GED required for all Per Mar Security Services positions.
• Must be able to travel, as needed.
• Must have mathematical skills including algebra and geometry.
• Must have knowledge of fire and electrical codes for safe installations.

Responsibilities

• Install and wire specified alarm system devices.
• Test and verify all installed systems and devices function per manufacturers’ specs.
• Use multimeters for volts and OHM readings and circuit analysis; connect devices to panels.
• Program alarm systems via programmer or keypad.
• Explain and demonstrate alarm system operation to customers.
• Complete proper paperwork and submit daily to the appropriate department.
• Communicate with clients, coworkers, and Per Mar's Central Monitoring Station.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
