Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Security Technician in Huntsville, AL. You will install, program, start-up and certify security and life-safety systems on assigned projects, and train customers on operation and maintenance.

You will grow with a collaborative team, follow blueprints and specifications, resolve basic issues, and support project managers on scheduling and quality. A strong customer focus and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Exceptional customer focus under pressure.
• Willing to learn fire alarm/electronic security systems.
• Self-starter with ability to work under direct supervision.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with hand/tools.
• Valid drivercicense with clean record.
• Ability to travel locally to jobsites; minimal overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Installs, programs, tests, repairs, and services a variety of systems and equipment including security, fire alarm & life safety, and building automation.
• Operates systems to demonstrate equipment, start-ups, analyses performance, and identifies malfunctions.
• Consults with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation and maintenance.
• Performs project-related tasks such as programming, training, and close-out documentation.
• Supports project managers and coordinators to ensure quality and client satisfaction.
