Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions in Orlando, FL is seeking an experienced Security Service Technician with programming, troubleshooting, and repair capabilities to support our life safety systems. You will collaborate with our service team and clients to ensure repairs are completed efficiently and meet quality standards.

The role demands attention to detail in diagnosing faults, programming systems, and providing technical guidance to fellow technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to five years of experience in a technician role within the building security systems industry.
• Knowledge of security systems including access control, IP video, and data systems.
• Ability to program and troubleshoot complex security systems.
• Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair security systems including analog, IP, addressable, and networked solutions.
• Program and maintain intermediate equipment and systems including intrusion detection, video surveillance, asset protection, environmental detection, holdup/duress, integrated systems and equipment related to the alarm monitoring station.
• Use a variety of troubleshooting tools to analyze systems and detect fault conditions.
• Produce repair reports in accordance with best practices for customer acceptance and billing information.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
• Responsible for complex troubleshooting and effective resolution.
• Responsible for programming systems via laptop computers.
• Assist in the oversight of project and vehicle inventory.
• Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other technicians.
• Take ownership of onsite projects including safety, quality, and performance.
• Train and develop other Service Technicians on equipment and company policies and procedures.
• Provide technical support to end users and technicians when required.
• Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.
