Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Security Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities to ensure sound design and seamless installation of security system solutions.

You will review layouts with engineering and project teams, install and commission access control, CCTV, and voice/data systems, and deliver projects on schedule while maintaining budget.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of technician experience in building security systems.
• Knowledge of access control, CCTV, and voice/data systems.
• Ability to program and commission mid-range security systems.
• Ability to read security design drawings.
• OSHA safety standards knowledge and OSHA 10 eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales.
• Install, program, and commission access control, CCTV, and voice/data systems via laptop computers.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
• Program, commission, and final acceptance by customers, engineering forms and end users.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Deliver projects on schedule and within cost budgets.
• Assist in oversight of project and vehicle inventory.
• Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other technicians.
• Demonstrate proper operation of equipment and control units to customers.
• Communicate and coordinate with onsite contractors.
• Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.
