Job summary

Convergint is seeking a Security Project Technician 2 in Indianapolis to install, program, and certify security and life-safety systems on diverse projects. You will train customers and ensure high-quality start-ups, with collaboration across project teams.

The role requires 3–5 years of field service experience, strong technical and blueprint-reading skills, and the ability to travel locally. A clean driving record and proficiency with MS Office are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years field service experience preferred.
• Certifications in security software/systems are a plus.
• Ability to travel locally to jobsites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, test, repair, and service a variety of non-routine security, fire alarm, life safety, and building automation systems.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and wiring diagrams to determine installation procedures.
• Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, perform start-up, certification testing, and customer training.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and Engineering to resolve issues and improve customer satisfaction.
• Mentor junior staff and assist in coordinating project activities and timelines.
