Convergint is seeking a full-time Security Specialist to join a culture of growth and service excellence. You will support installation, programming, start-up, certification, and customer training on a range of security, fire alarm, and building automation projects.

This role emphasizes hands-on work, mentoring peers, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of relevant experience, strong technical and communication skills, and a willingness to travel locally to

Qualifications

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
• Solid technical skills and experience with fire alarm systems and/or electronic security systems.
• Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Self-starter and work well with minimal supervision.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude and ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Solid organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
• Advanced computer skills including MS Office applications.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel locally to jobsites; minimal overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support Installations hands-on, training new colleagues, or help over the phone. Perform inspections, test & commission systems, and support standard and non-routine systems and equipment.
• Read blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications; interpret diagrams and repair equipment.
• Be a source of understanding security hardware for installation and service best practices; foresee issues.
• Ensure Convergint Technologies is the customer’s first choice for service at all times.
• Consult with engineering to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance, and warranty work.
• Identify potential project risks and assist in mitigation strategies.
• Mentor less experienced staff and supervise testing, tuning, and adjustments.
