Job summary

Convergint is hiring a Security Technician to install, program, startup and certify various security and life safety systems. You will provide customer training, troubleshoot, and ensure satisfaction on projects of differing scope while traveling to local sites.

The role emphasizes hands-on installation, coordination with project teams, and ongoing support to maintain Convergint’s service leadership and customer-first culture.

Qualifications

• Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years relevant field service experience.
• Experience with fire alarm and/or electronic security systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel locally to job sites.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, test, repair and service a variety of non-routine systems and equipment.
• Provide technical support and training to customers; refer complex issues to higher levels.
• Read blueprints, schematics and manuals to determine installation procedures.
• Operate systems to demonstrate equipment and commission new systems.
• Mentor less experienced staff and participate in project coordination.
