Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Security Service Technician to support commercial customers with expert field service across intrusion, fire, CCTV, and card access systems. You will work remotely from a field location with the tools to work independently and advise customers on system status and service issues.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, servicing commercial security systems, and communicating status clearly to customers and the care center.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with Tyco Integrated Security or a comparable product line should be 3–4 years.
• Experience with Card Access, CCTV, and IP cameras.
• HIRSCH Certificate.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Electrical or electronic background.

Responsibilities

• Repair or replace burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, card access systems, and other security equipment.
• Locate and resolve damaged equipment or wiring, then readjust, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test it for proper operation.
• Prepare trouble order forms to document temporary repairs and service actions.
• Communicate system and inspection status clearly to customers and the customer care center.
• Coordinate inspections and installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies when required.
• Provide recommendations, solutions, and quotes to support customer needs and facility efficiency, including appropriate upselling opportunities.
• Deliver a high level of customer service and act as a trusted advisor during each service visit.
