Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Security Service Technician to support commercial customers with expert field service across intrusion, fire alarm, CCTV, and card access systems.

You will work as a trusted advisor, troubleshooting and servicing systems, coordinating with customer care, and delivering reliable repairs to keep facilities safe and operational.

The role emphasizes clear communication, safety, and a proactive approach to inspections and installations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3–4 years experience installing and inspecting or repairing Tyco Integrated Security or a comparable product line.
• Experience with Card Access, CCTV, and IP cameras.
• HIRSCH Certificate.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Electrical or electronic background.
• Valid driver's license.
• Computer literacy and the ability to use test equipment such as multi-meters, digital analyzers, and commissioning tools.

Responsibilities

• Repair or replace burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, card access systems, and other security equipment.
• Locate and resolve damaged equipment or wiring, then readjust, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test it for proper operation.
• Prepare trouble order forms to document temporary repairs and service actions.
• Communicate system and inspection status clearly to customers and the customer care center.
• Coordinate inspections and installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies when required.
• Provide recommendations, solutions, and quotes to support customer needs and facility efficiency, including appropriate upselling opportunities.
• Deliver a high level of customer service and act as a trusted advisor during each service visit.
