Job summary

Target is hiring a Security Specialist to help keep guests and team members safe while ensuring a positive shopping experience. You will engage with guests, support store operations, and respond to incidents using Target's security tools.

The role requires flexibility for varied shifts, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Training is provided, and adherence to AP policies is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Create a friendly guest experience by greeting and assisting guests and resolving issues.
• Support team and assist peers while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Adjust to business needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience.
• Promote a safe security culture and maintain standards store-wide.
• Respond to security incidents promptly and document them in the case management system.
• Conduct merchandise loss prevention and support theft prevention as needed.
• Perform merchandise receipt checks to prevent theft and communicate trends.
