Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to help create a safe guest experience and protect merchandise. You will work with a dedicated team to deter theft, document incidents, and ensure storefront safety through escalation and proper procedures.

Responsibilities include assisting guests, maintaining secure standards, and training teammates on protection practices while supporting store goals and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Meet state/local licensure or other legal requirements.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
• Learn and adapt to current technology needs.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage guests and team members at the front of the store and on the sales floor.
• Lead a safe and secure environment across the store, including exterior areas.
• Respond to and document security incidents accurately.
• Use escalation tools to resolve guest issues while maintaining safety.
• Conduct merchandise recoveries and provide apprehension support per AP policy.
• Perform receipt checks to prevent theft and shortage of high-value items.
• Document incidents in the system following AP procedures.
• Operate the video surveillance system and train teammates on protection procedures.
