Job summary

CGL Electronic Security is seeking a Software Support Technician to join our team in the Greater Boston area. You will install, configure, and integrate software for access control, video surveillance, and alarm systems, while coordinating with customers and internal teams.

You will work with systems from Software House, Genetec, Exacq, Milestone, and other leading vendors, ensuring smooth integrations and ongoing maintenance.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years’ experience preferred.
• Manufacturer certifications such as Software House, Genetec, and/or Exacq are desirable.
• Ability to pass CORI check and obtain MA certificate of clearance.
• Pass background check, drug screen, and maintain a clean driving record.
• Familiarity with SQL programming language is a plus.
• Background in IT networking and system support is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete software installation and configuration for access control, video surveillance, and alarm systems.
• Provide integration support for customers’ existing systems with their access and video security solutions.
• Support internal teams that repair and maintain customer systems, perform regular maintenance, diagnose problems, and perform repairs.
• Coordinate with customers prior to scheduled software-related projects to verify needed information and personnel.
• Provide software installation, integration, and configuration services for access control systems (e.g., Software House, Genetec, S2 Netbox, Net Controllers, Openpath).
• Install, integrate, and service various video surveillance solutions (e.g., Genetec, American Dynamics, Exacq, Milestone).
• Configure and program network architecture to support access and video solutions.
• Perform IP network configuration for camera and access control systems.
• Maintain certifications for camera and access control systems.
• Provide customer system training.
• Interact effectively with all levels and departments, including stakeholders and contractors.
• Work closely with IT professionals to meet project and customer expectations.
• Demonstrate strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
