Job summary

Women In Need (Win) seeks an experienced Security Shift Supervisor in Bronx, NY to oversee shelter security operations and ensure a safe, supportive environment for residents, staff, and visitors. You'll supervise Security Guards and Residential Aides, coordinate emergency preparedness, investigate incidents, and support daily shelter operations.

The role requires NYS Security Guard License, NYS Fire Safety License (F80/F58), First Aid/CPR, and 2–3 years in social services or security with 1–2

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional education preferred.
• Valid New York State Security Guard License required.
• Valid NYS Fire Safety License (F80 or F58) required.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification required or ability to maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, train, and support Residential Aides and Security Guards.
• Assist with intake and orient new residents to the shelter environment.
• Identify residents with service needs and connect to appropriate staff.
• Conduct routine patrols of the shelter and perimeter.
• Monitor facility safety and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Coordinate and conduct fire drills, roll calls, evacuations, and training.
• Investigate incidents and prepare written reports.
• Provide crisis intervention and notify leadership of actions.
• Review logs and records for accuracy and safety.
• Conduct inspections throughout the facility and monitor for safety concerns.
• Complete intake documentation and DHS database reporting.
