Job summary

Metro Fire + Security in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a skilled Security Service Technician to service and replace alarm, camera, and access control devices across multiple sites. You will work with minimal supervision, lead teams on larger jobs, and prioritise customer satisfaction while maintaining safety standards.

Required: 5+ years in security technician work, valid driver’s license, and experience with Burg, DMP, Honeywell, DSC, Exacq or Wave VMS. S2/Brivo training is a plus.

The Security Service Technician is primarily responsible for servicing and replacing alarm, camera, and access control devices. A desired candidate is fully confident in their servicing and installation skills, works effectively and professionally with little supervision, has management and leadership ability with his team, excellent communication skills, and is consistently looking out for the customer’s best interest.

• Responsible for reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints


• Effectively communicate equipment issues and potential solutions on work performed to customers


• Explain and train customers on effective utilization of equipment and/ or systems


• Efficiently and accurately update and complete customer files, including but not limited to customer contacts, work orders, parts utilized, and work performed


• Promptly and professionally respond to customer questions and concerns


• Understand and maintain compliance with company and customer safety program


• Maintain all applicable certifications for necessary products serviced by company


• Ability to lead, train, mentor and/ or coach less experienced technicians

• Valid driver’s license


• High School Diploma/ GED


• 5+ years security technician work experience


• Commercial experience


• Able to work flexible hours including after-hours, nights, and weekends


• Able to travel to multiple job sites each day


• Fully proficient in alarm, access control and IP camera systems


• Access control installation and servicing experience – knowledge in S2 and Brivo


• Experience with installation of controller, reader, contact, REX and electrified door hardware


• Commercial alarm system installation & servicing experience – knowledge in Burg, DMP, Honeywell and DSC systems a plus


• Camera system installation & servicing experience, including network camera systems – knowledge in Exacq, Wave VMS a plus


• CAT5/6 network termination skills


• High precision/ detail-oriented


• Professional verbal and written communication skills


• Ability to work independently, with little supervision


• Ability to lead a team on larger jobs


• Works effectively and efficiently while performing all aspects of the required job
