Job summary

VOA-Greater New York is seeking a Safety & Security Manager to join its Real Estate Department in New York, NY. You will develop security plans, oversee operations, and coordinate emergency preparedness for 60+ residential and community facilities.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in public safety or security management, with CPP/PSP desirable. You will lead risk assessments, contract management, and collaboration with NYPD/FDNY to ensure safe, trauma-informed environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 7+ years in public safety or security management.
• Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field is a plus.
• CPP or PSP certifications highly desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication with ability to liaison with law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Security Planning: develop security plans and layered access strategies for VOA-GNY facilities.
• Contract Management: oversee third-party security contracts and cost-effectiveness.
• Risk Assessment & Audits: conduct risk assessments and safety audits across sites.
• Crisis Management: lead crisis response and emergency preparedness initiatives.
• Staff Training: develop trainings for staff and clients on security procedures.
• Technology: advise on CCTV, key fobs, and access control implementations.
• Community Liaison: coordinate with NYPD/FDNY and attend community meetings.
• Design & Development: integrate trauma-informed design and security in new projects.
• Interdepartmental Collaboration: work with Finance, HR, IT, and other teams.
