Job summary

Lantern Community Services Inc. is seeking a Security Operations Specialist to oversee safety and security across multiple Lantern sites in New York City. You will manage access control, incident response, reporting, and vendor coordination to maintain a secure, efficient housing portfolio.

The role reports to the Sr. Security Operations Specialist and requires at least 5 years in security or facilities management, with experience in supportive housing or human services settings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in security, operations, or facilities management.
• Experience in supportive housing, shelter environments, or similar human services settings is required.
• Strong understanding of security operations, access control procedures, and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels.
• Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee security operations across Lantern sites and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Coordinate with program leadership, property management, and vendors to maintain security standards.
• Train and coach site teams on incident documentation and reporting procedures.
• Develop and maintain site-specific post orders and security procedures.
• Review incident reports and ensure timely follow-up and remediation.
