Job summary

Convergint is seeking a Security Project Technician in Houston, TX to install, program, startup, certify, and train customers on security projects ranging from small to large. You will join a dynamic team and grow with the company as projects vary in complexity.

You will read blueprints, troubleshoot, and support the project lifecycle from start-up to customer training. A valid driver's license and ability to travel locally are required to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused service mentality and ability to work under pressure.
• Solid technical skills and experience with security/electronic systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Installs, programs, tests, repairs, and services non-routine security and related systems.
• Reads manuals and wiring diagrams to determine installation procedures.
• Operates and commissions systems; documents performance and issues.
• Mentors less experienced staff and assists in project coordination.
• Works with Project/Operations Manager to manage scope and budgets.
• Travels locally to job sites; provides customer training and start-up support.
