Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Manager, Security Solution Engineering to lead a team responsible for backend engineering, platform configuration, and administration of our email security managed service. You will drive engineering excellence, guide platform hardening, and ensure reliable delivery while collaborating with global teams across time zones. This role requires strong leadership, threat awareness, and customer-focused service delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience leading security engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of email security architectures and platform administration.
• Ability to guide engineering teams to deliver reliable and secure solutions.
• Experience managing SLAs and handling customer escalations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Security Solution Engineers; model professional and technical excellence.
• Oversee talent development: hiring, developing, and retaining top engineering talent for email security.
• Provide strategic and operational guidance; set short- and long-term engineering goals.
• Maintain deep knowledge of the email security platform architecture; drive technical decisions with minimum supervision.
• Plan process improvements and automation to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Monitor service delivery, respond to escalations, and ensure customer satisfaction and renewal health.
