Job summary

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is seeking a Security Operations Intern for Spring 2027. This on-site internship will support the Director of Security Operations with day-to-day operations and project work aimed at safety and security in a high-traffic public environment.

You will help update policies, assist with SOP reviews, and contribute to event security and school group procedures while gaining hands-on experience in security operations and emergency preparedness.

Qualifications

  • Sophomore, junior, or senior at the college level, majoring in Security, Law Enforcement, Homeland Security/Public Safety (preferred).
  • Experience working with children preferred, but not required.
  • Basic computer and software skills.
  • ADA REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to walk, stand, and move throughout the Museum campus for extended periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Update Policies and Procedures within the Security Department
  • Fire Extinguisher audit and relocation
  • Assist with reviewing and updating Security Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Support the Safety Warden Program.
  • Assist with school group arrival and departure procedures.
  • Support security operations related to Museum events as needed.
