Job summary

Allied Universal in Sparrows Point, MD is hiring a full-time, unarmed Security Officer for a warehouse setting. You will monitor assigned areas, greet clients and visitors, and support safety procedures to keep the site secure.

You will perform patrols, verify credentials, report incidents, and help maintain orderly traffic and access control. A high school diploma and successfully passing a background check are required; a valid driver’s license is needed for driving posts.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail distribution location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, warehouse areas, exterior perimeter, parking areas, access points, and loading docks to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, directing authorized personnel and vehicles, and documenting visitor, contractor, and delivery activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and complete required reports.
• Assist with maintaining orderly traffic flow and adherence to site rules for employees, vendors, and drivers entering and departing the location.

What You’ll Do

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
