Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer at our Sparrows Point distribution center in MD. You will provide customer service, conduct patrols, control access, and respond to incidents to keep the site secure.

This role offers a flexible schedule (Wed/Thu/Sat evenings), a pay rate of $18.50 per hour, and opportunities for training and career growth with a national employer.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail distribution center.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of warehouse areas, loading docks, trailer yards, parking areas, access points, and the surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor access to the location, verify authorized entry, and report unauthorized activity or unusual conditions to site leadership.
• Document patrols, incidents, and security-related observations accurately and promptly in accordance with site requirements.
