Job summary

Allied Universal in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a part-time unarmed Security Officer to monitor and protect campus and facilities, perform access control, and respond to incidents. You will work a daytime schedule with four 4-hour shifts per week (Mon-Thu 2:15 PM - 6:15 PM), earning $17.25 per hour and joining a team focused on service, safety, and integrity.

As an unarmed Security Officer at a higher education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control activities. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate campus personnel.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and required documentation in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• A minimum of two years of security-related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
