Job summary

Allied Universal in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer to monitor and patrol campus areas, maintain a visible presence, and deter security incidents while delivering friendly customer service.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• Experience with access control and badges is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, walkways, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate campus personnel and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and patrol documentation in accordance with site requirements.
