Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol Field Observation in Philadelphia, PA. You will patrol campus areas, deter incidents, support access control, and provide courteous service to students, staff and visitors while upholding our standards of integrity.

The position offers daytime shifts: Mon 06:15 AM – 02:45 PM, Tue 06:15 AM – 02:45 PM, Fri 06:15 AM – 02:45 PM. A high school diploma, two years security experience, and background checks are required; licensing

Qualifications

• At least two years of security-related experience is required.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with laws.
• A drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and report access-control concerns and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and communicate with campus stakeholders and Allied Universal leadership.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, campus-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
• Monitor access points and report access-control concerns, facility issues, suspicious activity, and policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and maintain professional communication with campus stakeholders and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least two years of security-related experience is required.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
