Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer for a Philadelphia educational location. You will conduct patrols, monitor access, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents while delivering excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

• Two years or more of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, hazards, and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and coordinate with campus resources and emergency personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain professional communication with Allied Universal leadership and campus representatives.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, maintenance concerns, hazards, and policy violations according to established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting campus resources and emergency personnel as needed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain professional communication with Allied Universal leadership, campus representatives, and responding agencies.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least two years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
