Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer in New York, NY. You will protect government locations, provide excellent customer service, and report incidents following established procedures.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, and assist in a welcoming environment while using Allied Universal’s shift-claim platform to build your schedule.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Licensing (state/county/city) preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• 18+ years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public at a government location.
• Respond to incidents calmly following emergency protocols.
• Perform regular unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas to deter unauthorized activity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government human services location while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, entry points, waiting areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location, verify visitor authorization as directed, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate activity, incident, and daily reports, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
