What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, residents, staff, and contractors at a government housing-related location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed foot patrols of assigned buildings, entrances, common areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and observe activity within assigned areas, verifying visitor and contractor entry in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and emergency responders as directed.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required documentation, and communicate relevant observations to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
