Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Unarmed Security Officer in New York, NY to monitor and protect government facilities and other sites. You will patrol, deter incidents, provide customer service, and maintain logs and reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of security-related experience.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check as per laws.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public while following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government facility interiors, exteriors, entrances, and perimeters.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry per site procedures.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government facility interiors, exterior areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and report concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures, and maintain awareness of visitor and contractor activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency personnel as directed.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain activity logs for patrol observations, incidents, and other security-related matters.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
