Job summary

Allied Universal in New York, NY is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) for a government services location. You will monitor entrances, patrol interior and exterior areas, and provide customer service to staff and visitors while maintaining a visible security presence.

This role requires NY Guard License, at least 1 year security experience, high school diploma, and the ability to work Tue/Wed/Fri shifts as posted.

Qualifications

• Must hold a New York State Security Guard License.
• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff at a government social services location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior areas, exterior grounds, entry points, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access to the location, verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures, and report unauthorized persons or unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and contacting emergency services when required.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, maintain required activity logs, and communicate observations and concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Wed 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Fri 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
