Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer for the Orangeburg, NY site. This flexible role lets you supplement income while gaining hands-on security experience in a welcoming, team‑oriented environment.

You’ll handle visitor intake, monitor access, and enforce site policies with a focus on safety and professionalism. A high school diploma and customer service experience are preferred; licensing is encouraged where applicable.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Experience in customer service and security roles preferred.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening as required.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles where applicable.
• Licensing/guard card preferred depending on state requirements.
• Familiarity with site policies and healthcare facility procedures is a plus.
• Access control and badge systems experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors following site procedures.
• Monitor front desk access, verify visitor credentials, issue passes, and direct to departments.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies calmly, contacting appropriate personnel as needed.

As a Security Officer Part Time Visitor Intake Desk in Orangeburg, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $16 - $16.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur: 06:00 AM - 04:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by following site-specific procedures and healthcare facility policies.
• Monitor access at the front desk, verify visitor credentials as required, issue visitor passes, and direct individuals to appropriate departments or areas.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; contact appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders when needed.
• Maintain accurate logs, visitor records, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with site procedures.
• Support a welcoming and orderly front-desk environment while helping to deter unauthorized access and reporting suspicious activity or policy concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
